A meteorite is a mass of stone or metal that has reached the earth from outer space. There are many different types of meteorites, stony being the most common yet hardest to identify due to being created from the same substance as the earth.
Tektites form as a result of an impact from space. The molten debris is forced into the atmosphere of earth and comes back down forming many different shapes. The word tektite comes from the Greek word “tektos” meaning molten.
